Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Colombo → Negombo
- Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport (Colombo).
- Meet your driver and transfer to Negombo (15–20 min drive) for convenience.
- Check-in at hotel and freshen up.
- Explore:
Negombo Beach – for sunset & leisure
Dutch Fort & Canal Area
Local fish market (if interested)
Dinner & Overnight stay at Negombo
Day 2: Negombo → Sigiriya / Dambulla (180–200 km / 4–5 hrs)
- After breakfast, drive to Sigiriya / Dambulla.
- Visit:
Sigiriya Rock Fortress – UNESCO World Heritage Site (climb to see frescoes &
panoramic views)
Dambulla Cave Temple – ancient rock temples with Buddha statues & paintings - Check-in at hotel & relax.
- Dinner & Overnight stay at Sigiriya / Dambulla
Day 3: Sigiriya → Polonnaruwa → Kandy (180 km / 4–5 hrs)
- After breakfast, visit Polonnaruwa, ancient kingdom & UNESCO site:
Royal Palace Ruins
Gal Vihara (rock-cut Buddha statues) - Drive to Kandy, the cultural capital of Sri Lanka.
- Evening: Attend Kandyan Cultural Dance Show.
- Dinner & Overnight stay at Kandy
Day 4: Kandy Local Sightseeing
- After breakfast, explore Kandy:
Temple of the Tooth (Sri Dalada Maligawa)
Kandy Lake
Royal Botanical Gardens – Peradeniya - Optional: Visit Udawattakele Forest Reserve for nature walk.
- Evening free for leisure or shopping.
- Dinner & Overnight stay at Kandy
Day 5: Kandy → Nuwara Eliya / Hill Country (80–100 km / 2–3 hrs)
- After breakfast, drive to Nuwara Eliya, known as “Little England.”
- En route visit tea plantations & tea factory for fresh Ceylon tea tasting.
- In Nuwara Eliya, visit:
Gregory Lake – boating & leisure
Hakgala Botanical Gardens
Local Market & Post Office - Evening at leisure.
Dinner & Overnight stay at Nuwara Eliya / Hill Country
Day 6: Nuwara Eliya → Colombo (200–220 km / 5–6 hrs) → Departure
- After breakfast, drive back to Colombo.
- En route stop at Ramboda Falls or other scenic points for photos.
- Transfer to Colombo Airport for onward journey. ✈️
