Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Guwahati → Shillong (100 km / 3 hrs)
- Arrive at Guwahati Airport / Railway Station.
- Meet your driver and proceed to Shillong, the “Scotland of the East.”
- En route visit:
- Umiam Lake (Barapani) – a serene and scenic lake ideal for photos.
- On arrival, check in at hotel & relax.
- Evening visit Police Bazaar or Ward’s Lake for a leisurely walk.
- Dinner & Overnight stay at Shillong
Day 2: Shillong → Cherrapunjee (60 km / 2 hrs)
- After breakfast, drive to Cherrapunjee (Sohra) – one of the wettest places on Earth.
- En route visit:
- Elephant Falls
- Mawkdok Dympep Valley Viewpoint
- Arwah Cave
- Nohkalikai Falls (tallest plunge waterfall in India)
- Seven Sisters Falls
- Eco Park
- Evening at leisure.
- Dinner & Overnight stay at Cherrapunjee
Day 3: Cherrapunjee – Living Root Bridge Trek (Nongriat / Tyrna)
- Early breakfast and proceed to Tyrna village for the Double Decker Living Root Bridge trek (approx. 3,500 steps one way).
- Explore the bridge, natural pools & lush forest.
- Return by evening. (Moderate fitness level needed; can skip or do short treks if preferred.)
- Dinner & Overnight stay at Cherrapunjee
Day 4: Cherrapunjee → Mawlynnong → Dawki → Shillong (200 km round trip)
- After breakfast, drive towards Mawlynnong, Asia’s Cleanest Village.
- Walk to Living Root Bridge (Riwai village)
- Visit Balancing Rock
- Then proceed to Dawki (India–Bangladesh border)
- Boating on the crystal-clear Umngot River
- Visit India–Bangladesh border point
- Return to Shillong by evening.
- Dinner & Overnight stay at Shillong
Day 5: Shillong Sightseeing – Laitlum Canyon & Local Markets
- After breakfast, visit:
- Laitlum Canyon – breathtaking valley views and photo spot
- Don Bosco Museum – rich cultural insight
- Cathedral of Mary Help of Christians
- Golf Course / Local markets
- Evening leisure for café-hopping or shopping.
- Dinner & Overnight stay at Shillong
Day 6: Shillong → Guwahati Departure (100 km / 3 hrs)
- After breakfast, drive back to Guwahati.
- En route, visit (if time permits):
