Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Leh – Acclimatization Day
- Arrive at Leh Airport (Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport) — one of the world’s highest airports!
- Meet your driver and transfer to hotel.
- Full day rest for acclimatization (very important due to high altitude).
- Evening (only if feeling well): short walk to Leh Market, Leh Palace, or Shanti Stupa for sunset views.
- Dinner & Overnight stay at Leh
Day 2: Leh Local Sightseeing (Monasteries & Palace)
- After breakfast, explore the heritage and culture of Leh:
- Thiksey Monastery
- Shey Palace
- Stok Palace & Museum
- Sindhu Ghat
- Hall of Fame (Indian Army Museum)
- Return by evening.
- Dinner & Overnight stay at Leh
Day 3: Leh → Nubra Valley via Khardung La Pass (125 km / 5 hrs)
- After early breakfast, drive to Nubra Valley via Khardung La (18,380 ft) – one of the world’s highest motorable roads.
- En route enjoy breathtaking views of the snow-capped mountains.
- On arrival, check in at camp / hotel.
- Visit:
- Diskit Monastery (with 100-ft Buddha statue)
- Hunder Sand Dunes – enjoy camel ride on double-humped Bactrian camels.
- Dinner & Overnight stay at Nubra Valley
Day 4: Nubra Valley → Pangong Lake via Shyok (170 km / 6 hrs)
- After breakfast, drive towards the mesmerizing Pangong Lake (14,000 ft) via Shyok route.
- Enjoy the scenic drive along river valleys and mountain passes.
- On arrival, soak in the stunning views of Pangong Tso — changing hues of blue & turquoise.
- Spend the evening by the lake.
- Dinner & Overnight stay at Pangong Lake (Camp / Cottage)
Day 5: Pangong Lake → Leh (155 km / 5 hrs)
- After breakfast, drive back to Leh via Chang La Pass (17,586 ft) – the third highest motorable road in the world.
- En route visit Thiksey Monastery (if missed earlier).
- Arrive in Leh by afternoon.
- Evening free for shopping at Leh Market or café hopping.
- Dinner & Overnight stay at Leh
Day 6: Departure from Leh
After breakfast, transfer to Leh Airport for your flight back home with wonderful Himalayan memories.
